My partner maintains a playlist of songs about California, which we tend to listen to whenever we visit the state. Back in 2021, this made me curious to know which states were the most sung about, so I queried the number of tracks on Spotify featuring each state’s name, which resulted in this notebook on Observable.

I ended up losing steam on the project and found others had done a better job (see this great piece from Julia Silge), but the concept is here for anyone interested in further exploration!
